Joe Acampora

Coach

Joe is a veteran to FIRST, having a long history with FIRST Tech Challenge as a judge and volunteer for the Hudson Valley Regional Championship tournament. Joe is Manager of Information Systems for the City of Mount Vernon, and a techie at heart and committed to educating the next generation of scientists and engineers. Joe believes that by exposing students to STEM and giving them opportunities to explore STEM-related concepts, they will develop a passion for it and possibly pursue a job in a STEM field. STEM education creates critical thinkers, increases science literacy, and enables the next generation of innovators.

A father of 2, Joe is also active in the local community, as a White Plains Little League coach and volunteer for the George Washington Elementary School PTA.

Eugene Kim

Coach and Team Administrator

Eugene is new to FIRST Lego League and learning as he goes. As a consultant with Deloitte, he works helping organizations solve problems leveraging technology. Fascinated with exploring the rapidly changing landscape of tech, his current interests include tinkering with devices like the Arduino and Raspberry Pi. Active in the Drupal open-source community, he is excited about Cloud enablement, DevOps, IoT and AI/deep-learning. He believes exposing children early to technology hands-on, is makes math and science both fun and interesting helps the student to do much more than just learn.

Father of 4 elementary school age children, he enjoys skiing and working on cars.
